HARD – Azmoon IELTS Listening Practice Test 10 – Full

Answers and a full breakdown of your mistakes are shown as soon as you finish.

Part 4 of this test is the best story in the whole set, and we saved it for last. For two centuries the greatest technical problem in the world was knowing where you were at sea. A carpenter with no scientific training solved it — and the board judging the prize was dominated by astronomers whose own method he had beaten. He was paid in stages, and received the rest only in his late seventies after the king intervened.

Part 3 contains a finding that anyone who has ever visited a museum will recognise: a bench does more for how long people stay than any label does. The students spend the section working out how to observe visitors without changing the behaviour they came to measure, which turns out to be the whole difficulty.
