Answers and a full breakdown of your mistakes are shown as soon as you finish.
Part 1 of this test is harder than Part 1 usually is, and that is deliberate. Four of the ten answers arrive only after a wrong answer has been given first — a cancelled train, the wrong coach, a different retention period. Candidates who write down the first thing they hear will lose four marks in the section that is supposed to be the easy one.
Part 4 is about the potato, which sounds like a joke until you reach the ending. It closes on why a field of genetically identical plants had no defence against disease, and the vocabulary in that final minute — clone, propagate, selection, resistance — is Academic Reading vocabulary.
Four parts, 40 questions. Reporting a bag lost on a train; how a community repair café works and what people bring in each month; two students examining why newly planted street trees die; and a lecture arguing that the potato reshaped European society. Note completion, two-answer multiple choice, matching to months, and single-answer multiple choice.

These give away part of the answer. Take the test first.
It is an original practice test written to the same format, question types and timing as the official IELTS listening paper. It is not a past paper.
Allow 30 minutes + 10 to transfer, the same as the real exam. Practising under time pressure is most of the value.
