The most useful thing in this test is a small historical detail: Rowland Hill won the argument and lost the financial case. Volume more than doubled, and revenue still fell for over twenty years. Question 12 turns on exactly that gap between what he predicted and what happened, and candidates who read for the general story rather than the specific claim get it wrong.

Passage 3, on whether extinct species should be brought back, contains the most carefully balanced disagreement we have written. Two of the three specialists agree on a conclusion and disagree entirely about why.
